The Biomedical Genomics laboratory of GRIB (UPF – IMIM), http://bg.upf.edu , led by Nuria López – Bigas will be in charge of the coordination of this project in which also participates the private company Sistemas Genómicos. The funding received for the project amounts 500.000 euros for 2 years.
The project verses about the start up of an efficient system for the analysis, management and exploitation of genomic data for the healthcare. The improvements of genomic techniques and, in particular, in the technologies for the nucleotides chains sequencing, open a wide range of possibilities for the development and evolution of the personalized healthcare.
The objective of the Innocash program, managed by the Spanish Foundation of Science and Technology (FECYT) is to promote the knowledge and technology transfer to private sector. In the last call only eight projects has been granted.
